father son

My father and I don't really speak much these days so i guess i don't have much to write about, but on the other hand i have a mother who has taken the roll of my father and mother. My pops and I used to have a good a good relationship but since i have grown up and become more "rebellious" its put a strain on our relationship. My mother says i act just like him so i guess since we are so alike it makes it that much harder to get along. when i was younger my father would come get me every other weekend and we would go shopping or out to eat at a fancy restaurant but after his divorce he was completely different, we didn't do much of anything. He was admitted to a half way house and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and at the time i wasn't really able to understand what was going on with him and why he didn't have time to spend with me anymore and this was the begging to our issues and the laundry list to come. I love my father and always will but i just do not have or want a stable relationship with him because it seems that work comes before family in his eyes and this is one thing that i guess were not on the same page with yet again.

The reasoning for our existence has been debated for centuries upon centuries, there will never be a definite answer because people view their existence many different ways. The meaning of life is what you make it and the time you spend on this earth is short so i believe there is no reasoning. Our lives are just as important as any other living organism and sense we are the most superior out of all animals and we haven't found a definite meaning for our lives then what is the reliance of any life? This question can only be answered by an individual and only applies to that individual.Many have dedicated their life to religion or a sport or one particular thing but that is just a individuals outlook on life and doest pertain to everybody.  If we haven't found a reason for life by now then i believe we never will.

God in 2010

Today in our society god is looked at as the answer to all our problems and has been many people’s crutch for years. Many people prey everyday and wait for their prayers to be answered but when in fact they are the ones they should look to, to progress in life and not just depend on any one thing.  Great people put great efforts into what they do and achieve the things they do because of their motivation and the self-confidence. A belief in a higher power is meant to humble all but in fact it seems to cripple those who devote their entire life to this belief. god is meant to give hope and inspire those who have goals and need some extra hope to get them over the edge. When great deeds are done most give praise to god but it seems in actuality that that person deserves more credit. God created everybody as equal and the praise should be given to the person who accomplished it. The best athletes are always the hardest workers and their performances are based off their practice and aren’t just given special powers by god.

Candide

Candide is led to believe that the current world he lives in is the best possible place. unfortunately  for him he wound up finding out the hard way that what he believed for so long is wrong. He is sentenced to be flogged 36 times and this initially seems outrageous because the crime he was charged with is listening with an air of approval. his sentence is later changed to being flogged by 2000 people which seems more outrageous. The book is based off this type of outlandish comedy and wouldn't be as entertaining if the books tragedies weren't as preposterous as this. the penalty for his actions dont match and Candide doesn't deserve to be flogged by 2000 people because the "crime" he committed shouldn't be fit with this punishment, the punishment he revives seems like it should be handed to a rapist of a murder but but instead they give it to a person who is merely a student under a philosopher and and doest pose to be a threat to anyone else.
